We are all part of a cycle: born, growing, aging, and eventually making way for a new generation. This cycle continues, much like the seasons that surround us. It is the natural beauty of these recurring patterns that I aimed to capture in this series of letterings.
There is a certain quality to traditional sign painting. Either a chalk board, a window painting, a mural on the wall or a good old handmade store sign. It makes a place unique, authentic and cozy.
From an early age, my daughters joined me in creating their own letterings, and soon their friends were part of the fun. This shared creativity sparked the idea for a kids' workshop where we explore how to turn inspiration into art. In collaboration with Staedtler, we’ve put together a creative goodie bag to help you get started. Parents, you’re welcome to join the workshop too! Together, we’ll nurture the next generation of lettering artists.
